EE's second IC10 run Empty EE's second IC10 run

Hi forum trolls,

just some update about our raiding. Yesterday we had our second ICC10 run and I'm just gathering some useful information and remarks here :

- we lacked 1 guildtank since a signed raider did not want to join. This is unacceptable and also slows down the start of the raid considerably, since we can not foresee this (and frankly, we should not have to). We pugged a DK tank who fake-dcd at saurfang for some reason and we had Thorin to help us out for 3 more bosses, even though he did not really have the time to raid all evening. All of this made the raid slow, messy and a bit unfocused, things we want to avoid at all costs. These things are frustrating for everyone but are unfortunately a part of building a steady team. Recruitment will continue and hopefully we will find another asset soon like we did with Schwing, who did a great job at organising and tanking aswell.

-No progress was made and we did not manage to get 11 down as we did the first time. Reasons for this were 1) the tank issues and 2) the loss of focus in the raid due to the waiting times and the replacement. Both dps and healing were not consistent enough to succesfully manage heroic modes.

- On a positive note : the normal modes were no problem whatsoever and we had a 9/10 guildrun (even 10/10 when Thorin joined to help out).

- Another point of interest (positive and negative at the same time) was the number of signs. We had around 20 signups, which was comforting (to see the interest and eagerness to raid). The negative aspect was that we had to turn down many people since we only had 2 tanks signed, therefore a second 10m raid could not be made (yet). To satisfy everyone's needs to raid, we have now posted a ICC25 run next week, in order to give every guildmember the chance to raid with his / her guildies at least once. We will also try to continue the recruitment for tanks, to make 2 raids/ week an option for all. The most important thing to remember here is that every recruit gets his chance to prove his worth in the 10men. Nobody will get priority on spots based on gender/time in the guild/name/friendship/ whatever. We will continue to try to give everyone a spot and a chance, based on a combo of class/specc - rotation - tryout of new recruits. This phenomenon is part of building a guild / raiding team and our officers hope you understand it and accept it with patience.

There has been an officer meeting after the raid, as there always will be after a guildrun, and the points of interest have been discussed and suggestions made to solve these issues. Some raidmembers will be adressed personally about their performance. If this someday happens to you, do not consider this as flaming, it is meant to be positive, constructive criticism to help our raids maximize their potential. The officers also self reflect about their role in the raid and will try to make themselves better, just like we expect you to do the same.

Any opinion, thoughts, remarks or suggestions are always welcome.

Thanks for the comment Amy Smile Too bad about the DK fake dc'ing at Saurfang, but I wanna thank Thorin for joining on such short notice. I hope the 25man next Thursday will go well.

All sign up!
